PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise unveiled this year’s winner of the Enterprising Women Alumni Award and the new emphasis on socially innovative female entrepreneurs and businesswomen of the North. Suzanne Tighe, owner of Nurse Next Door, will be the recipient this year in recognition of her business and social innovation.
The Enterprising Women Awards and Gala takes place November 16, 2017 at the Victoria Inn. The full day event will feature keynote speakers, interactive workshops, networking, awards, an auction and much more. This year’s keynote speakers are Lee Smart and Lindsay Leese of SmartLeese Creative. Creatively recognized as excellent improvisers and comedians, Smart and Leese will be presenting an interactive keynote lunch.
“Not only are we thrilled to have Lindsay and Lee of SmartLeese as our keynote presenters, but we can’t wait to learn from and absorb their innovative delivery style,” Rosalind Lockyer, coordinator of PARO,
said, “This year’s award recipient- Suzanne Tighe, of Nurse Next Door, truly embodies what the Enterprising Women event stands for.”
The day will feature workshops such as “Empowerment through the Co-operative Model “ and “Innovative Marketing”, among other events. Past winners of the award will also be in attendance, as well as
members of PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise, including leading entrepreneurs from PARO’s renowned Circle membership, Women in Politics, local businesswomen, etc.
“The purpose of this event is to recognize the hard work and drive it takes to be a business savvy woman in the North,” said Lockyer. "Succeeding in competitive marketplaces is always difficult, but we like to recognize the extra effort such success requires when working in more remote areas, such as Northwestern Ontario.”
